In the end, averting this is what brings Mako back to herself when Satsuki orders the two girls to fight and Ryuko refuses to attack Mako, showing her best friend that she remained unchanged despite everything and that they were all better off with the way things used to be in the slums of the city. In contrast, Ryuko laments the loss of the bonds they used to share and becomes very lonely. When she and Mako start a fight club which is successful enough for the Mankanshoku family to move up their living standard in Honnou Town multiple times, the other family members becoming increasingly self-absorbed and uncaring. Acquired Situational Narcissism: Averted, unlike all of the other members of her household.Being that she was born with Life Fibers injected into her body, it means she has spent her entire life with the entity that was used to paralyze everyone else and render it null. Acquired Poison Immunity: She reasons that she's immune to Ragyo's Absolute Submission because she's "a little in between human and Life Fiber".So she both caused Ryuko to fall into this state and then brought her out of it. Eventually, she changes her mind with a little persuasion from Shinjiro, who was ironically Nui in disguise. Achilles in His Tent: After she completely loses her confidence due to giving in to her rage during her fight with Nui Harime in episode 12, she spends her time moping in her room. However, by this point, she's too angry to care. Accidental Hero: She saves several students from the COVERS in episodes 19 and 20.Also, while she is at first adamant about murdering her father's killer in vengeance, she ends the series with absolutely no deaths on her hands. Throughout the series, she frequently gives warnings to anyone who pisses her off, but many times it's comical in nature, such as giving empty threats to Aikuro and doesn't seem to enjoy violence beyond needing to fight in order to get the answers she wants. While Ryuko is a tough talker and dresses like a delinquent, she's a Jerk with a Heart of Gold (at first) and unambiguously a good person at heart. This allows her to fly into space, while she couldn't do anything but hop angrily after Ragyo and strengthens her regeneration to be able to quickly recover from Ragyo's Shinra-Koketsu powered attacks. 11th-Hour Superpower: She gains the combined power of every student's uniform before leaving to face Ragyo for the final time. What snaps her out of this one is actually becoming victim to Ragyo's mind control and making a sudden turn against the heroes. Once again in episodes 19 and 20 after discovering the truth of her origin and birth, Ryuko abandons Senketsu, disregarding the state of the world and leaving to face Nui and Ragyo by herself.Ryuko refuses to help Nudist Beach take out the Life Fibers after finding out Senketsu was designed to kill them, only to put him on again and agree to help them the episode right after. She bounces right back to help a student who, in a twist on the usual outcome of this, turns out to be Nui in disguise, who promptly defeats Ryuko and tears up Senketsu. In episode 13, due to going out of control against Nui Harime in the previous episode.
